When the Radio Acoustic Sounding System (RASS) option is added, it can provide virtual temperature profiles up to 1,5 km above ground level. The system operates unattended and provides continuous, real-time atmospheric wind and virtual temperature data with excellent temporal resolution. LAPﾮ-3000 is the worlds most popular wind profiling system for mesoscale forecasting and nowcasting in applications like air quality, aviation operations, defense, offshore observations, weather modification, and various research purposes.
