| Pepperl+Fuchs Elcon offers a complete line of HART interface solutions (HIS) for connecting HART field devices to asset management software. The HIS family of solutions is designed from the ground up to extract the digital HART signal without disturbing or compromising the communication between the field devices and the distributed control system (DCS) or programmable logic controller (PLC). HIS is designed to interface to or replace the control system termination panel. It provides access to all the digital information available from HART instruments. HIS Solutions fall into two broad categories: Customized Interfaces for all major DCS and PLC systems, and External Interface Solutions for retrofit applications when replacing the original termination panels is not an option. |

| HART Interface Multiplexers |
The Mux2700 acts as a gateway device, routing communications between the maintenance workstation PC and the HART field devices. It interrogates each HART device, retrieves device information, and stores it in an internal database. This information is made available to the Asset Management Solutions system (AMS). The Mux2700 also acts as a message coordinator for communication between the maintenance workstation PC and the HART devices. Our Mux2700 provides two essential benefits: small size and low cost per point The small footprint is especially important for retrofit installations where cabinet space is costly and often unavailable. For new installations, we offer a wide range of termination panels. These replace DCS I/O panels, and the multiplexer mounts directly to the panel.

The Mux2700 Multiplexer is used to connect HART field devices to Asset Management Systems. Each Multiplexer provides communication to 32 HART devices. A network is built by multidropping multiplexers; up to 31 multiplexers connect to support a single network with a maximum of 992 field instruments per communication port on your PC workstation. Additional networks can be built to connect virtually any number of devices to a single Asset Management system. To establish communications between AMS and the Mux2700 Multiplexer, you need a HART Multiplexer and a termination panel. In addition, an RS-232 to RS-485 converter must be placed between the Mux2700 and the computers RS-232 port. |
